The OConnor Golf Course

The Christy OConnor Golf Course in the Amendoeira Holiday Resort was inaugurated in 2008. The championship course mainly runs over flat and undulating ground which was originally planted with orange trees. There is a many water hazard involved in most holes to test the player in their shot accuracy and club selection. These water features, both lakes and watercourses, combined with the rich topsoil has been skilfully landscaped and planted with mature palm trees to create a lush ornamental setting.

The first nine holes the golfer will encounter a number of lakes, The fifth hole has attractive orange groves to the left and right, and should be a pleasure to play with the scent of the orange blossom, heavenly! Holes seven, eight and nine, present a curious challenge as the water hazards could cause a layer a lack of concentration. Hole number ten leads back southwards and setting up the challenge for the inward nine. Again water and meandering watercourses will test players all the way to the eighteenth hole. The Christy OConnor together with its sister course the Nick Faldo Golf Course will make an excellent part of any Golf Holiday Package.
